Drouwenerzand Theme Park Introduces New Horrors Amidst Halloween Celebrations

This year, the Drentse amusement park, Drouwenerzand, unveils a haunting spectacle with the addition of three new haunted houses and a maze, promising visitors a bone-chilling experience during its 'Scary Halloween' event this October. Visitors are invited to explore the eerie realms of the new haunted houses: Cuckoo's Nest Asylum, The Flying Dutchman, and Familia Caronas, each bringing a distinct flavor of fright to the table. Recently, Looopings got a sneak peek of these spooktacular attractions during a special try-out session.

A Peek into the Terrifying Worlds

In the Cuckoo's Nest Asylum, daredevils venture into a chillingly horrific postnatal visit. The Flying Dutchman, on the other hand, centers around frightening pirates, while Familia Caronas draws its terrifying inspiration from the Mexican Day of the Dead. During the day, the experience is thrilling yet not too terrifying, however, as evening cloaks the environment, the atmosphere ominously shifts into something far more frightening.

Replacing existing houses - Freek's Mansion, Hell of Time, and the Heksenhuisje - these fresh names are set to instill new horrors into the hearts of visitors. Additionally, Drouwenerzand is introducing a new scare zone dubbed Freak Circus and a chilling new horror maze: The Maze. Moreover, once evening descends, an added ghoul will infest the spook-darkride Landhuys den Linden.

Unlimited Snacks Amidst the Scares

The park, adorned with various grisly decorative pieces, adheres to an all-inclusive formula during Halloween days, allowing visitors to enjoy unlimited snacks and lemonade amidst the frights. The event's slogan ominously advises, "Never go alone."

This horror event is scheduled to take place on several dates in October: Saturday 7th, Saturday 14th, Saturday 21st, Wednesday 25th, and Saturday 28th. Tickets are available online for 23.50 euros, while entrance tickets may be available at the ticket office for 28.50 euros if space permits. Each evening's terrifying events will conclude with a vibrant fireworks show.

So, whether you're a thrill-seeker or someone who enjoys a slightly more subtle scare, Drouwenerzand is preparing to cater to all this Halloween, providing both terrifying and more light-hearted spooky experiences. Don’t miss the chance to be one of the first to experience the new haunts and let the chilling tales of the Cuckoo's Nest Asylum, The Flying Dutchman, and Familia Caronas enthrall and frighten you this October.
