Toverland Unveils a Spellbinding New Haunted House Experience: "Now You're Mine"

Published on 5 October 2023 at 11:29

Visitors of Toverland's Halloween Nights, brace yourselves for an exhilarating and potentially spine-chilling journey, as the Limburg-based theme park introduces its new haunted house, built within an awe-inspiring two-story building: "Now You're Mine". Without spoiling too much for the eager and curious, here’s a glimpse into what awaits inside the immersive experience.

Mysterious Depths and Legendary Stones

Unlike traditional haunted houses, "Now You're Mine" invites guests to explore an exhibition within the fictitious Mijnbouwmuseum Sevenum, unraveling the mystery of the enigmatic mining director Mijndert Müller. Officially, the mine system is sealed off. However, small groups of daring explorers are gradually led to a behind-the-scenes space, plunging into a world shrouded in myths and mysterious disappearances.

Upon entry, a security guard introduces adventurers to the tale of the Magnum Opus, a stone alleged to possess special powers, hidden somewhere within the mine. In a storage room, visitors are provided a miner's lamp to guide them through their exploration, eventually boarding an elevator that takes them to the authentic mine tunnels.

Illuminated Dangers and Cavernous Mystery

Guests should tread lightly and stay alert, as the mine, dense with scare effects and an optical illusion, proves to be a terrain where their only light source, the mine lamp, can unpredictably fade into darkness. The sinister mine transitions into a suffocating cave system, where the murmur of trickling water and waterfalls echo against the rocky walls. Here, if guests listen intently, they might discern their own names being whispered through the cavernous gloom.

While Müller's whereabouts remain concealed for a substantial part of the journey, a laboratory eventually provides answers, transforming speculations into a chilling revelation.

Mythical Entities and a Dramatic Culmination

Journeying through a corridor adorned with stalactites, guests enter a cave aglow with luminescent insects, soon encountering the "Knockers" – mine spirits from Celtic mythology. Legend has it that these entities knock as a warning when a mine is on the brink of collapse, hence their name.

Undoubtedly, the final scene within "Now You're Mine" steals the spotlight. Crafted as a massive temple, approximately 10 by 10 meters, brimming with special effects, Mijndert Müller holds one final surprise before guests are shepherded to safety.

An Escalation in Horror and Thematic Storytelling

The journey, spanning roughly twenty minutes, is labeled by Toverland as a "terrifying total experience". This monumental and intricately detailed haunted house propels the caliber of Halloween Nights to new heights. Toverland’s most extensive haunted house until now was "Maison de la Magie", launched in 2020. However, this year they've pushed boundaries further in thematic depth, effects, storytelling, and scale.

"Now You're Mine" can be experienced on October 7th, from October 14th to 16th, from October 18th to 22nd, from October 27th to 29th, and on November 4th, each day from 15:00 to 22:00. Tickets are available online for 9.50 euros per person.

Embark on a journey where the past, mystic legends, and horror intertwine, exploring the eerie unknown and encountering the supernatural - only at Toverland this Halloween season.
