EUROPA-PARK MUST DO ATTRACTIONS
Must-do attractions and themed areas at Europa-Park
Europa-Park is huge, and that is part of what makes it so special. The park has more than 100 attractions and 21 themed areas, so trying to “do everything” in one day can feel almost impossible. Instead, we recommend focusing on the true highlights first, then leaving space to wander, explore, eat, and enjoy the atmosphere.
If there is one attraction everyone is talking about, it is Voltron in the Croatian themed area. This is Europa-Park’s big modern thrill coaster, themed around Nikola Tesla and electricity. With multiple launches, seven inversions, and some truly unusual ride elements, it feels intense, spectacular, and very different from the park’s older coasters. Even if you are not a huge thrill-seeker, it is worth walking through the Croatian area just to see the ride in action. The coaster dominates the skyline, and the energy around it makes this one of the most exciting parts of the park.
Silver Star is one of Europa-Park’s classic headline attractions. It is tall, fast, smooth, and gives you that wonderful floating feeling on the hills. It may not have the heavy theming of some newer rides, but it remains one of the park’s most iconic roller coasters. This is a great choice for guests who love big coasters but prefer airtime over inversions.
In the Icelandic themed area, Blue Fire Megacoaster is another must-do for coaster fans. It launches you straight into the action and combines speed, inversions, and smooth transitions in a way that still feels fantastic. The Iceland area itself is also one of the most atmospheric parts of the park, especially when you combine blue fire with WODAN and the surrounding food spots.
Right next to blue fire, you will find WODAN - Timburcoaster, Europa-Park’s wooden coaster. This ride feels wild, loud, fast, and full of energy. It is a completely different experience from the park’s steel coasters, and that is exactly why it belongs on your must-do list. If you enjoy rides with a more raw and chaotic feeling, WODAN is one of the best attractions in the park.
For families, dark ride fans, and anyone who loves detailed theming, ARTHUR is a highlight. This suspended family ride takes you through a colourful indoor and outdoor world inspired by Arthur and the Minimoys. It is not the fastest or biggest attraction in the park, but it is one of the most charming. ARTHUR is especially good if you are visiting with children or if you want a break from the bigger thrill rides without feeling like you are “settling” for a smaller attraction.
Piraten in Batavia is one of Europa-Park’s most important dark rides. It is a boat ride full of scenes, characters, music, and classic theme park storytelling. After being rebuilt, it feels both nostalgic and modern, making it a wonderful attraction for guests who love immersive rides. This is one of those attractions that shows Europa-Park is not just about roller coasters. It is also about atmosphere, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
Voletarium is Europa-Park’s flying theatre attraction and a great choice for almost everyone. It gives you a beautiful aerial journey across Europe, with gentle motion, music, and impressive visuals. It is especially good at the start of your visit because it immediately captures the spirit of Europa-Park: travelling through Europe in one day.
The Austrian themed area is one of the most beautiful parts of the park, especially after the return of the Alpine Express “Enzian” and the refreshed Magical Valley of Diamonds. This area has a cosy alpine atmosphere, with mountains, waterfalls, caves, and family-friendly adventure. It is a lovely area for families, but also for anyone who appreciates classic Europa-Park charm.
The Greek themed area is bright, lively, and full of holiday energy. It is home to attractions like Poseidon, one of the park’s most popular water coasters. This area is especially fun on warmer days, when the combination of white buildings, blue details, water rides, and Mediterranean food makes it feel like a mini vacation inside your theme park day.
Our advice: do the big rides, but don’t forget to wander. The biggest mistake you can make at Europa-Park is treating it like a checklist. Yes, you should absolutely make time for Voltron, Silver Star, blue fire, WODAN, ARTHUR, Voletarium, and Piraten in Batavia. But Europa-Park is also at its best when you allow yourself to get a little lost.
Walk through the themed areas. Try a snack you did not plan for. Watch a show. Sit down near a fountain. Take the scenic route instead of the fastest one.
Because the real magic of Europa-Park is not just in the headline attractions. It is in the feeling that you have travelled through Europe, one beautifully themed corner at a time.
Ticket options for Europa-Park
Europa-Park is not a small “just turn up for a few hours” kind of park. With more than 100 attractions, shows, restaurants, themed areas, hotels, and the Rulantica water world next door, your ticket choice can make a big difference to your visit. For most guests, we recommend booking in advance and deciding early whether you want a one-day visit, a two-day theme park trip, or a full resort stay.
Opening hours
Europa-Park is a seasonal park, but it is open for large parts of the year, including summer, Halloween, HALLOWinter, and winter season. In the 2026 summer season, Europa-Park is open daily from 9:00am until at least 6:00pm. During HALLOWinter and winter season, opening times usually shift to 11:00am until at least 7:00pm, with special closures on some dates such as 24 and 25 December. Always check the official opening calendar before your visit, as hours can change depending on the season, events, and crowd levels.
Ticket Options
In 2026, online 1-day tickets start from €67 for adults and €56.50 for children aged 4–11 and seniors aged 60+. One day is enough to get a strong first impression of the park and experience several major attractions, but you will need to prioritise. Europa-Park is big, and if you also want to enjoy shows, food, slower themed areas, and rerides, one day can feel very full.
For most first-time visitors, we honestly think the 2-day ticket is the better option. Europa-Park is one of those parks where the magic is not only in the headline rides, but also in the details, entertainment, food, hotels, and atmosphere. In 2026, online 2-day tickets start from €127 for adults and €105 for children and seniors. The official 2-day ticket gives you a second visit that can be used flexibly within five days of your first visit, with guaranteed admission on that second day thanks to a separate ticket allocation.
We strongly recommend buying your Europa-Park tickets online before your visit. Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office, but Europa-Park charges a €10 surcharge on the online ticket price for on-site purchases, and advance booking is recommended because capacity can be limited.
Rulantica and combination visits
Rulantica, Europa-Park’s water world, requires a separate ticket. It is a full attraction in its own right, with slides, pools, relaxation areas, and evening ticket options. For 2026–2027, Rulantica day tickets vary by date and ticket type, with online day tickets listed from €38 to €51 for adults. Evening and moonlight tickets are also available.
If you want to visit both Europa-Park and Rulantica, we recommend planning at least two full days, and preferably three if you want a more relaxed trip. Europa-Park sometimes offers Ride & Slide tickets, combining theme park and water park fun, but these are only bookable during certain periods.
Hotel packages and resort stays
If you stay at one of the Europa-Park Resort hotels or at Silver Lake City, it is worth checking hotel-and-ticket packages. Overnight guests can access best-price tickets through the hotel receptions, and hotel stays can include useful benefits such as earlier admission to Europa-Park and Rulantica.
This is especially useful if Europa-Park is the main reason for your trip. Staying on-site also makes it easier to take breaks, enjoy dinner at the resort, and return to the park without losing too much time.
Annual passes
Europa-Park has ResortPass options, including Silver and Gold versions. ResortPass Silver gives access on more than 230 possible opening days, while ResortPass Gold gives access on all opening days and includes additional benefits such as two Rulantica day tickets, subject to availability. However, ResortPass availability can change, and the official site currently notes that the ResortPass may be sold out or unavailable until further notice.
For international visitors, an annual pass usually only makes sense if you plan to visit multiple times within a year or combine Europa-Park with several resort trips.
Parking
If you arrive by car, you will need a parking ticket for the visitor car park. In 2026, Europa-Park lists parking at €10.
Location and accessibility
Europa-Park is located in Rust, Germany, at Europa-Park-Straße 2, 77977 Rust. The resort can be reached by car, train, plane, or group transport, making it a realistic destination for both European road trips and longer international holidays.
For Dutch and Belgian visitors, Europa-Park works especially well as part of a longer theme park road trip through Germany, France, or Switzerland. It is also a great resort destination on its own, especially if you combine Europa-Park with Rulantica and one of the themed hotels.
Planning a Dutch theme park trip can be magical, but it can also come with a lot of questions: where to stay, how many days you really need, which parks to combine, and whether public transport or a car makes more sense. That is exactly where Dutch Theme Park Network can help. We don’t just write about these parks, we visit them, love them, and know the little details that can turn a good trip into an unforgettable one. So if this blog has made you dream about visiting Efteling, Toverland, Walibi Holland, Duinrell, Slagharen or any other Dutch theme park, we would love to help you turn that idea into a real adventure.
